Dee Dee Brigdewater @ The Rialto Theater

Saturday, February 13, 2010 - 8:00 p.m

Few artists so expertly command the range and depth of Dee Dee Bridgewater, the recipient of a Tony Award, two Grammy Awards, and France’s top honor, the Victoire de la Musique. Dee Dee first made a name for herself as a "sparkling ambassador of jazz" on recordings with giants likes Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie, and Max Roach and then captured the hearts of audiences worldwide in The Wiz on Broadway. Now, Bridgewater brings her award winning evocation of "Lady Day" to the Rialto stage.

Chinua Hawk @ Sambuca Jazz Cafe

Sunday, February 14, 2010 - 6:30 p.m & 8:00 p.m

Chinua Hawk Biography Singer, Songwriter, Entrepreneur, just some of the words that can be used to describe Chinua Hawk. This New Jersey native spends close to two hundred and forty days a year performing concerts at colleges and Universities all over the country. He has also done several European tours in Switzerland as well as England. Chinua counts himself very fortunate in his career to have performed with, Celine Dion at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He has also written songs with Wyclef Jean, and worked in the studio with Kanye West on hip hop artist Talib Kwelis song Just To Get By.

Maria Howell w/ Bernard Linette Interactive @ Churchill Grounds

Sunday, February 14, 2010 - 8:00 p.m

Powerful. Riveting. Sultry. Mere words can only capture the refrain of her awesome talent. Maria Howell is much more. She is the ballad of beauty and elegance. The melodies flowing from the petite vocalist are truly amazing. While casting a spellbinding smile, she mesmerizes her captive audience with incredible harmonies and rhythms.

Howell's signature film performance as the choir soloist in the movie "The Color Purple" was quoted by one critic as being "one of the film's most stirring moments!" Her rendition of "God Is Trying to Tell You Something" was memorable for all who saw it, but the offerings of the all-grown-up Maria are truly unforgettable, eliciting more stirring moments, one after another.
